ABOUT ANCA
Anca Seger
is a Canadian painter in Waterloo who makes medium size abstract landscapes. Her work is inspired by the farm land around her studio and her search for home as an immigrant.
Her paintings are less about depicting a specific place and more about capturing a feeling: the uncertainty of distant horizons, the movement of water, the buoyant energy of shifting skies, the mystery held in stillness, an emotional space people can step into.
"For me, painting is an act of presence.I paint in search of my inner home, looking for a space to grow roots. My immigrant background is expressing itself through this longing for a space to call my own, to settle down, to stop running. "
Anca offers original acrylic and mixed media intimate smaller pieces as well as larger scale statements that can transform a space. Her art invites others to slow down, look inward, and join her on a journey through the unseen terrain of the imagination.
Her works are exhibited in galleries in Ontario and in private collections in the USA and in Europe.
